Michael,
I agree with you that IF the development goes ahead no one will actually know the height or what the view will be until it is in place.
As far as the three months is concerned, I suspect if a small hole is dug and said to be part of the foundations then it could be described as development starting.
As you say "a funny old world"
Steve
Thanks for replying its a strange old world you know, as far as I can see development must start within 3 months and yet no one seems to know how high it will be.
I really genuinely don't think any of the people who made the decision could tell one what could be seen by someone standing on the cliff edge in front of the bandstand and looking out to sea. Beach, sea, horizon or just sky?
My calculations come out just below the horizon, but small variations to the height at the front of the building make huge differences to the view.
It would help I think if we could get a maximum height above the cliff top for all of the building apart from the 2 bits that have to stick up.
All the best Michael

Michael,
Just to let you know that I received your latest e-mail.
My position is as i have stated on numerous occasions is that I am for a development of the Pleasurama site, but it should not extend above the cliff face in front of Wellington Crescent.
I was not aware of the clearing of the site this week until it was brought to my attention by a fellow councillor.

Michael,
I have only just received your e-mail, although I did receive your letter last week.
As a member of the planning committee you will have heard my views on the Pleasurama site at planning meetings. I have received no information to make me change that opinion.
I will listen to any argument presented at either a planning meeting or at full council and then decide on the way I shall vote on any proposal put forward.

Steve I have 4 children 2 of them potty training and am trying to run a business in a leisure town where almost all the leisure facilities have closed or burnt down. This means I cant get to council meetings. Your views on Pleasurama height, parking, company behind it and any other aspect would be appreciated.
Below is all I can find.
All the best Michael
Came in to discuss this in the shop, he is soon to become the new mayor of Ramsgate

Steve http://www.thanetonline.com/Pleasurama/ works ok on our computers so I think you may have to delete some temporary internet files to do this on the desk top right click on internet explorer then properties then on the general tab click on delete files.
This relives for internet explorer the human equivalent of constipation.
however if this wont work go to www.thanetonline.com and click on the picture of the Ramsgate Seafront Development then on the page that comes up click on Click Here to read the councillors views on the subject
You may have missed my point that because of the more than doubling of property values in Ramsgate in the last 3 years it is now economicly a very different ball game especially in the prime seafront positions. If for example you build a 3 story building on the seafront containing a swimming pool and 30 three bedroom apartments the apartments will sell for about £200,000 each that is a total of six million pounds. Part of this money can be used to finance the swimming pool. The SFP Ventures Partners project contains over 100 apartments. Only a short time ago the same apartments in Ramsgate would have been hard to sell at £60,000 you can confirm this information by phoning any of the Ramsgate estate agents. In fact you will probably find that I have understated the values considerably.
Kind regards Michael

Michael,
Thank you for your e-mail, unfortunately I cannot, for some reason, access the page that you say has the comments of different councillors on it.
As far as leisure facilities are concerned, I would welcome these if a company or individual would come forward with plans and the money to back them up. So far this has not been forthcoming.
